Thorough perusal of the Birmingham League website reveals a hard fought , and well deserved , point for Colebridge Braves in their first match of the season , away at Beaufort Sports A .
Lee Holtham was the Brave with the brace , after overcoming a two set deficit against Andy Jackson, and then triumphing, after another five set encounter, against last Winter seasons’ Premiership individual high flyer, Jon Ludlow.
Not to be outdone , experienced campaigner, and Colebridge stalwart ,Pete Roddy, displaying the defensive skills for which he is well known , defeated highly rated Jack Williamson 5-11,9-11, 12-10, 14-12, 11-8.
Ben Willson , the Premiership newcomer with the fiendish serves , then illustrated why he will not be out of his depth at this level with a 11-6, 9-11, 15-13, 3-11, 12-10 defeat of Jon Ludlow.
Without doubt , a well deserved point , with 50% of the matches going the full distance.
Should The Braves maintain this standard of performance they will not be making up the numbers in The Premiership – well done lads.
