Colebridge players had a successful couple of days at the Bribar Bristol UWE Grand Prix last weekend.
Rising Colebridge star Aman Ubhi shocked the number one seed in Band 4 , Reece Placid , by winning his group. Playing a stamina sapping 15 sets in three matches, Aman went on to win Band 4, greater things surely beckon for this young tyro of the table. Navinder Matharu , returning to the circuit after his university studies , also did exceptionally well , reaching the semi finals of the same event. Welcome back Navinder.
In the Ladies competiton , Colebridge Assistant Secretary Kate Hughes , who is as proficient with a paint brush as she is with table tennis bat , will consider herself unlucky after losing out in two finals; the semi finals of Band One , in four sets, and by the same margin in Band Two , but this time in the final.
